Cross Creek Bank Repair & Stabilization Project
S&EC prepared repair and stabilization design plans for approximately 425 linear feet streambank along Cross Creek which failed during back to back hurricane events. The failed stream bank, and an almost 50 foot high upper slope, is located immediately adjacent to the historic Cross Creek Cemetery in Fayetteville, NC. The project scope included evaluation of existing impaired/impacted site conditions, the development of a conceptual restoration plan, the development of construction documents including Construction Drawings and Technical Specifications. The repair and stabilization efforts utilized collected reference reach data and natural channel design methodologies to return the stream to its pre-impact dimension, pattern and profile. S&EC also performed a stream and wetland delineation for the project as well as U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and N.C. Division of Water Quality (DWQ) regulatory coordination, 404/401 permit application preparation, and contractor coordination and construction observation during project implementation.
