Mingo Creek Phase 7 & 12

Nearby Michaux’s sumac (Rhus michauxii) reference site

S&EC worked with the developer to complete an individual permit application for the last two phases of the Mingo Creek residential community in Knightdale, in Wake County, North Carolina. S&EC provided an official species list for federally threatened and endangered species, as well as additional database searches utilizing the NC Natural Heritage Program (NHP). A population of the federally endangered plant species, Michaux’s sumac (Rhus michauxii), is located approximately 1.5 miles from the project. Suitable habitat assessments and detailed botanical surveys were conducted, and coordination with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) took place during the federal permit application review process.
